About The Team & Role
An exciting opportunity for skilled highway professionals to join a busy Highways Development Management team.
As a Clerk of Works in Gloucestershire County Council’s Highways Development Management team, you’ll undertake site inspections under sections 38, 184, and 278 of the Highways Act (1980) across Gloucestershire. Your role is to ensure developer-led infrastructure is constructed to high standards. You will liaise with developers, contractors, councillors, the public, and colleagues.
This is an exciting time for talented highway professionals to join a growing team and County Council, contributing to Gloucestershire’s reputation as a desirable place to live, work, and visit.
About You
To succeed, you should have extensive knowledge of highway and construction specifications and standards, experience in on-site highway improvement schemes, and strong technical and engineering skills. You should be personable, professional, and capable of providing robust technical solutions to complex engineering problems. Your problem-solving skills and customer-focused approach will be valuable assets.
You should be proactive and committed to your professional development in civil engineering and highways development management.
