About the Role:
We're grüum an award winning personal care brand. We're fast growing and manufacture our own products at our Stockport and Nottingham bases. We were started by 4 friends in Manchester. There's now almost 100 of us who are all striving to make awesome skin and hair care products.
We are seeking an experienced Stock Buyer & Controller to join our growing team. This hybrid role, based in Stockport, requires at least three days per week in the office, offering the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder. You will be responsible for sourcing and managing raw materials, ensuring optimal stock levels, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Supplier Management
* Source and purchase raw materials & components in line with production needs.
* Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
* Liaise with suppliers & couriers to ensure delivery deadlines are met and any delays are communicated to production
Stock Control & Inventory Management
* Monitor and manage stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
* Implement efficient stock control processes and conduct regular inventory checks.
* Ensure stock records are accurate and up to date.
* Ensure all stock is stored safely and appropriate COSHH assessments have been carried out
Cost Control & Efficiency
* Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
* Analyse stock usage and procurement trends to optimise ordering processes.
* Work closely with production and finance teams to manage budgets and forecasts.
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure all raw materials meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
* Address and resolve any supplier issues related to quality or delivery performance.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ Previous experience in purchasing and stock control within a manufacturing environment.
✅ Previous experience managing supply chains.
✅ Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
✅ Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
✅ Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office.
✅ Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
✅ A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
