This post provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced, Qualified Nurse in Speciality Neonatal Nurse to train as a Advance Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Successful candidates will commence on Band 7 salary uplifted to Band 8a on successful completion of the ANNP course.
This role will be based at both Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton. Cross site working is expected.
Successful candidates will work collaboratively with Consultant and multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.
A commitment to completing the trainee ANNP course is essential. This is currently an apprenticeship course held at Coventry University.
Admission onto the course is dependent upon having Maths and English GCSE Grade C and above but options can be discussed with Angela Burden on enquiry of this post.
Main duties of the job
Neonatal services at UHDB are provided across both the RDH and QHB sites.
RDH NICU is a 26 bedded Local Neonatal Unit providing 3 ITU, 6 HDU and 17 special care. QHB NNU is a Special Care Unit providing 8 cots - 1 HDU and 6 Special Care plus stabilisation facilities. Both units form part of the EMNODN.
Both units work closely together to develop a wider service that encompasses the needs of our community. Across site we care for babies over 27 weeks gestation requiring all levels of care. We pride ourselves on our excellent standards of care and facilities. We have an open, honest and caring team approach, supporting Family Integrated Care and the encouragement of parents and families to be involved in the care of their baby from the beginning of their journey on our unit.
Families have access to an extensive Allied Health Care support team. There is a dedicated Paediatric Clinical Education Team who support the education and training of all nursing staff.
