Contract: Fixed Term until 31/08/2025, TTO + 5 INSET DAYS
Hours: 30 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Callicroft Primary Academy for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in our established Nurture groups. Callicroft is an inclusive school but we have recognized that some of our children are finding it really difficult to 'do school well'. As a result, we have decided to create a KS1 and a KS2 Nurture groups for children for whom school is not yet working. Nurture groups are designed to address the social and emotional needs that can hamper pupils’ learning. So as well as providing academic teaching, the group is designed to help children develop vital social skills, to develop confidence and self-respect, and to take pride in behaving well and in achieving.
If you have a passion for working with children with additional needs and a belief that love and the safety of secure, nurturing relationships can transform children's lives, then this could be the role for you. The successful candidates will work with another colleague to deliver the Nurture curriculum to a group of 6-12 children. Depending on the skill set of the successful candidate, they may be placed to work in the Nurture Groups or supporting a child with SEND in the mainstream provision.
Hours for this role are 30 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday, the working pattern is to be agreed. The successful candidate will work term time only plus 5 INSET days, totaling 39 weeks per year.
All candidates must have a good standard of general education, to include Maths and English at GCSE level "C" or above or equivalent qualification, good interpersonal skills with both adults and children, and NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or other relevant experience and qualification.
