Freelance Site Engineer – Required
Location: East of Edinburgh
Contract: Immediate Start – Mid/End 2026
Contract Scotland is working in partnership with a well-established civil engineering contractor to recruit a Site Engineer for a key power project near the East of Edinburgh.
About the Role:
This is a long-term contract role, offering the opportunity to be part of a major infrastructure project from an early stage. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Supporting site operations during both enabling and civils phases
Accurate setting out and survey work
Collaborating closely with site and subcontractor teams
Using CAD and LSS for design interpretation, earthworks modelling, and reporting
Ensuring works are carried out in line with project specifications and health & safety standards
Requirements:
Previous experience in a Site Engineer role within civil engineering or infrastructure. Come with valid CSCS card.
Proficient in CAD and LSS
Strong understanding of setting out techniques and site documentation
Ability to work independently and adapt quickly on a live site
Immediate availability or short notice preferred
