Cash Finance Assistant (CIMA or AAT Study Support)

Who are we looking for?
* Ideally, you’ll have experience in cash management, including double-entry and journal posting, however, we’re also open to candidates with broader finance-based experience.
* It’s important you are highly numerate, confident in Microsoft Excel, and possess attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* You’ll work with a variety of finance teams and other internal teams, so you’ll enjoy collaborating and learning from other professionals.
* You will be proactive, pragmatic and strive to improve the way we do things.
This is a hybrid role where you’ll be working 4 days in the office / 1 day from home and it is advertised for 37.5 hours working Monday to Friday in our lovely head office Union.
Job purpose:
The Cash Finance Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day bank reconciliations, administering all cash receipts from customers, processing staff expenses and other ad hoc processing duties. Along with a good knowledge of cash management, you’ll be confident in Excel and a strong communicator.
The Team:
You will be based in our lovely head office Union working within a team of six colleagues.
We can support AAT or CIMA after you've completed your settling in period, if this is a study path you wish to follow.
What you'll be doing:
* Completion of daily cash postings that will include: Customer cash received, ad hoc supplier payments, supplier and customer Direct Debits, other miscellaneous transactions.
* Reconciliation and overseeing of multiple bank accounts, working to strict deadlines.
* Resolving cash items in our Bank Suspense Account, regularly working with colleagues in both the Accounts Payable and the Credit Control Team to resolve unposted items.
* Regular review and clear down of unposted bank transactions, including reviews of historic balances on the Receivables ledger.
* Raising manual payments in respect of Adhoc payment schedule as well as inter-account transfers using different banking platforms.
* Maintenance of customer Direct Debits and any resulting queries.
* Processing of staff expenses including query resolution.
* Assisting the Cash Team Manager on the company pre-paid card transactions to ensure employee compliance.
* Respond promptly to customer and colleague queries with a can-do attitude, always looking for ways to make improvements.
* Assist where needed during the annual audit process, including internal audits.
