Applications Engineer – The Role:
Undertaking site surveys, engaging with sub-contractors, writing tenders & producing costings
Engage with customers, engineering teams & internal sales teams to provide high levels of technical support
Acting as key interface between sales & engineering teams to provide a high standard of technical support to the sales team
Preparation of quotations & proposals, including estimation of resources & equipment preparation of system technologies
Preparation of system technologies & technical material to support proposals
Providing high quality technical support to the sales team
Will require some UK & overseas travel
Applications Engineer – The Person:
Preferably qualified to degree level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering / Mechatronic Engineering
Hold previous experience in a similar role including experience & strong knowledge of AC, DC & Servo VSD’s, PLC software, SCADA, HMIs, MES / MIS
Strong, demonstrable technical experience in the field of automation solutions – ideally Drives, Controls, PLC or Networking; used within heavy industrial environments I.e. Steel, Paper, Marine
Ability to configure technical systems from customer requirements
Practical experience of deploying drive technologies across various industrial sectors would be advantageous
Ability to develop high quality, technical proposals
Expert automation drives knowledge
Confident & proactive person with an organised approach to working
Hold a valid UK driving license & passport
This role is commutable from Wellington, Shrewsbury, Telford and Wolverhampton.
Would also suit Control Engineer, Proposals Engineer or a Technical Sales Engineer who enjoys client contact and concepting.
