Addleshaw Goddard (AG) is seeking an experienced in-house commercial contracts lawyer to enhance its firmwide procurement services. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Procurement team and various stakeholders to oversee the entire process of reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial supplier agreements. This role involves significant interaction with the Office of the General Counsel and Information Security teams to ensure due diligence and risk management practices are thoroughly applied to supplier engagements. The position offers flexibility with a hybrid working model from either the Leeds or Manchester office.
AG’s Procurement team is recognized for its strategic approach to sourcing and supplier relationship management, emphasizing long-term partnerships and continuous process improvement. The team, which is divided into Legal and Commercial sub-teams across Manchester and Leeds, is instrumental in managing procurement processes end-to-end. As AG expands globally, the role demands a focus on both local and international contracts and risk management, providing an exciting opportunity for the right individual to contribute to the team's development and strategic direction.
The role is varied, covering a wide spectrum of commercial supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and advising on commercial and legal aspects of contracts. The ideal candidate will bring at least one year of post-qualification experience or significant in-house experience in commercial contracts within a procurement setting. Key skills include strong drafting and negotiation capabilities, commercial awareness, and the ability to communicate complex contractual implications effectively. Experience with data protection, IT contracts, and intellectual property in procurement contracts is desirable.
