Academics LTD is partnering with a top-rated SEN school in Reading that provides tailored support for children aged 5 to 18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school is looking for an enthusiastic and supportive SEN Support Assistant to join their team.
SEN Support Assistant Responsibilities:
* Understanding and supporting children with Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Working with students with various needs, including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, behavioural challenges, sensory issues, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties
* Helping students build emotional regulation and social interaction skills
* Demonstrating a genuine interest in working with children or in the Special Educational Needs (SEN) field
* Bringing a positive, bubbly personality and remaining calm under pressure
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside skilled SEN professionals and psychologists, making it perfect for Psychology or Criminology graduates. If you're considering a future career in Mental Health or Education, this is a fantastic stepping stone. No prior experience is required, but qualifications such as a Degree, Level 3 certifications, or any experience with SEN children are highly valued.
Position Highlights:
* Role: SEN Support Assistant
* Location: Reading
* Salary: 83 - 95 per day (based on experience, training, and qualifications)
* Contract: Long-term temporary with the possibility of a permanent position
* Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
* Experience: Preferred but not essential
