Castle Employment are working with a global leader in supplying remote-operated and submarine rescue systems. This organisation specialises in innovative solutions for challenging underwater operations. Based in North Yorkshire, this facility designs and manufactures reliable, high-quality products known for their performance in demanding environments.
Role Purpose:
This role involves supporting all aspects of the stores department under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor. Responsibilities include stock control, handling shipments, inventory checks, and assisting with department operations to maintain a smooth workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular inventory checks and report any changes to the supervisor.
* Organise and store stock in designated locations within the stores department.
* Handle dispatch, packing, and shipping duties.
* Prepare work orders and flag any shortages.
* Inspect returned items for suitability for restocking.
* Assist with unloading vehicles and checking goods in.
* Perform driving duties for offsite parts delivery and collection.
* Complete all required documentation accurately.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work areas.
* Suggest and implement improvements to store layout and procedures.
* Carry out any additional duties as needed to manage department workload.
Accountabilities:
* Ensure all incoming stock is stored within 24 hours of receipt.
* Prepare and supply production teams with items as per work orders.
* Follow company policies, especially FIFO (first in, first out) stock rotation practices.
* Maintain necessary documentation for goods received and dispatched.
Qualifications:
* Basic secondary education, ideally with Maths and English.
* NVQ or equivalent in a stores-related field is an advantage.
Essential Skills:
* Strong teamwork skills and good manual dexterity.
* Competent in basic numeracy with attention to detail.
* Forklift licence and a full, clean driving licence.
* Ability to interpret basic drawings for quality control.
* Effective communicator, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
Experience Required:
* Previous stores experience, ideally within a fast-paced production environment.
Safety & Compliance:
* Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Promptly report any unsafe or environmentally unsound conditions to supervisors.
