Responsibilities:
1. Leading a team of Engineers, you will be responsible for the development of a platform manoeuvring solution throughout the full lifecycle of production.
2. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for realizing and delivering the engineering design for a vehicle control system utilizing agile toolsets.
3. Developing and maintaining the competency and skills of the team with varying levels of expertise and experience, helping them become competent.
4. Liaising with internal stakeholders (within the programme) and external stakeholders (wider BAE-S & Customer) and external suppliers to foster a collaborative, dynamic working relationship.
5. Engaging with suppliers and managing engineering requirements, deliverables, and ultimately acceptance of work leading to a design description of a future vehicle control system, relevant sub-systems, and equipment.
6. Engagement with legacy stakeholders in the development of a technical solution from a known baseline design.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control or Instrumentation Engineering.
2. Experience of architecting electronic systems such as vehicle control systems, navigational control systems, etc.
3. Proven track record of leading and inspiring engineering teams to work across the product lifecycle.
4. Knowledge of applying safety and security standards to engineering products.
5. In-depth knowledge of one of the following: design and deployment of complex control solutions, manoeuvring architectures, or vehicle design.

The Submarine Solutions Team:
You will be helping to define and shape the design of the Royal Navy's next generation attack class submarine and working to implement novel internal communications technology and concepts whilst collaborating with colleagues within the Integrated Combat Systems business, wider stakeholders, suppliers, and the Royal Navy. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
