We stage, manage and operate both Men’s and Women’s events on behalf of the LPGA Tour, PGA Tour, DP World Tour, Ladies European Tour, Asian Tour and R&A, across both the Professional and Amateur game globally. The IMG Golf Summer Interns will be supporting the teams working on the UK based events, taking place in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales in the months of July and August. With two of these events being Major Championships, this internship gives a great insight into the behind the scenes of what goes into staging large scale international events both in the lead up to and on-site during event week. Responsibilities The main event the IMG Golf Summer interns will attend are The Open at Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland, specifically on the IMG House and other partner Hospitality programmes, the ISPS Women’s Scottish Open at Dundonald, and the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl, Wales. The intern role across the summer golf events portfolio will be extremely varied, ranging from: Administrative tasks – researching and collating Player Profiles for competing fields, compiling rooming lists and transportation requests, sourcing gifting and merchandise, working on post-event reporting and debrief documents. Operational tasks – Assisting the team with a wide range of outdoor operational activities integral to staging a large scale event; siting and placement of event infrastructure and furniture, organisation and management of the buggy compound, radio and cabin/buggy key distribution, coordination of the Volunteers and Marshall program, collation of required H&S documentation for all on-site suppliers and implementation of sustainability initiatives. Client facing tasks –An integral part of the team running the Hospitality Programme for clients and executives attending the Endeavor House during The Open. Manage the operation in the Palmer Suite, a shared hospitality facility between IMG and The R&A. Assist with the smooth running of Pro Am’s and Sponsor Golf days. Supporting the team managing HSBC Account across their activation and hospitality programmes at The Open and AIG Women’s Open. Qualifications Educated to A-level or equivalent. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word Highly organised, proactive and comfortable with multitasking effectively Ability to work calmly under pressure, to foresee and meet deadlines Interpersonal skills and a strong team player with the ability to confidently deal with clients of all levels, and the ability to modify approach and tone appropriately Program Details We offer internship opportunities within our global sports and entertainment businesses, including global cultural marketing agency 160/90; sports rights management, production, and digital content leader IMG (Rights, FC Diez, Seven League); global licensing business IMG Licensing; premium hospitality and live experiences leader On Location, Professional Bull Riders (PBR), and entertainment agency WME (including WME Sports and Fashion). Locations include New York City, Nashville, St. Louis, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago, London, and Paris. All internships are in the office and in-person, unless otherwise noted. In addition to hands-on experience and exposure to the global sports and entertainment industry, interns participate in events such as welcome/farewell sessions, a speaker series featuring company leaders, and career training workshops addressing everything from LinkedIn profile enhancement to resume building, interviewing skills, and networking. Internships are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, or standard local working hours in the intern location.
