Lecturer in Welding & Fabrication (Ref. No. L717)
Full-Time/Permanent/Altens Campus
Salary: £40,170.00 - £48,357.00 per annum
If you are enthusiastic about Welding and Fabrication and training people to work in Engineering professions, are a highly effective team player who actively assists colleagues and have the ability to pass on knowledge and skills to students, we want you to come and join our team.
Applicants must be qualified to SVQ level 3 and hold a National certificate in Welding and Fabrication or equivalent (SCQF Level 6).
Applicants should also have TIG, MIG, MMA welding and fabrication experience.
Experience of teaching is not essential but you will be contracted to obtain TQFE (Teaching Qualification in Further Education) once employment has commenced if you do not already hold a relevant teaching qualification.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
1. Working knowledge of welding and fabrication.
2. Good communication skills
3. Good presentation skills
4. Good interpersonal skills
5. Good organisational skills
6. Ability to develop and use appropriate learning/teaching/training materials
7. Computer literate
8. * Knowledge and/or experience of the use of electronic learning materials
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
1. SVQ Level 3 and National Certificate in Welding and Fabrication (or Equivalent SCQF Level 6)
2. Up to date knowledge of current welding practices including MIG, TIG and MMA welding
3. Coded welding experience with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW and SMAW.
4. Fabrication skills with the use of oxy fuel and plasma cutting equipment.
5. Teaching or training experience
6. * Teaching qualification (TQFE or equivalent)
7. * Assessment experience
8. * Assessment qualification
9. * ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)
10. * GTC registration
