Description We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join us on permanent basis asap. You will be undertaking reactive and planned engineering maintenance activities and improvement works at the CFC Dordon (near Tamworth). Working closely with Inbound, Outbound and other support teams to optimise availability and performance of the facility, and its MHE automation. The role is shift based to support the 24/7 operation of the CFC 2 weeks before Christmas. Accountability: Carry out planned maintenance across the site in an accurate and timely and safe manner. Keep records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores, training etc. Work closely with other departments finding ways to increase machine reliability on existing and new equipment. Diagnose equipment breakdowns and action repairs where possible. Be available to attend training sessions. Perform daily housekeeping and cleaning duties of equipment. Work closely with the team to assist in developing skills and transferring knowledge across the engineering team. Analyse data and find solutions to improve MHE performance. Reporting and monitoring of data for automation and maintenance activities. Maintain and improve performance to maximise efficiency of operation in line with KPIs. Involvement with projects within the business to develop an effective engineering install and solution. Support and propose innovative ideas to enhance the warehouse or engineering functions and improve the general running of the business. Ensure site standards are high. An excellence approach to all activities and site standards within your area. Communication and reporting of all work activities, defects and parts used through appropriate medium, whether directly to operation or Engineering team Manager on occasion of breakdown, or full reporting after the event to ensure an accurate record is maintained designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods. Planning and scheduling planned and unplanned work. Carrying out quality inspections on jobs; ensuring work is completed to a safe standard. Ensuring, through maintenance activities, that equipment is safe and maintained safely. Directing, instructing and supervising Technical Assistants. Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment; ensuring equipment is stored and used in a safe and controlled manner. Ability to carry out physical Engineering maintenance activities at the CFC. Reporting of Hazards, Accidents and Near Misses, being involved in identification and implementation of solution Skills, Experience and Qualifications ● Electrical or mechanical experience, preferably within an FMCG environment A natural problem solver, experienced in working with controls, analysing faults and providing solutions Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software, ideally with some experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance An organised, capable team player with excellent communication skills Some working knowledge of automated warehouses and their technical components. Have an eye for detail; good problem solving ability and a practical approach. Good communicator with the ability to analyse and impart knowledge. Respond to tote jams on the conveyor systems. Use computerised systems to complete jam reports and to complete maintenance logs, therefore basic computer literacy is essential Work safely at all times and highlight all H&S Issues to your Line Management. Full training to complete the technician role over 5 weeks will be given but experience ofworking within an automated warehouse / logistics environment would be desirable. Flexibility of working pattern as and when required by business needs. English language skills equivalent to B1 on CERF Scale or above.
