Senior Quantity Surveyor – Telecoms
Location: Glasgow
What you will be doing:
* Maximise margin recovery through Clients and Subcontractors accounts
* Create and maintain profit motivation of the team, considering Client/Subcontractor relations
* Optimize cash flow through external valuations and control of subcontractor accounts
* Assist in costing works related to site locations
* Procure sub-contractors and their services as necessary
* Monitor Reserves/Work in Progress and Subcontractors Payments
* Assist Financial Department in recovering outstanding monies
* Monitor Final Accounts progress for Main Contracts and Subcontractors
* Facilitate recovery of retention and similar items
* Ensure contractual procedures are followed for Contracts and Subcontracts
* Ensure site team compliance with contractual obligations
* Verify subcontract conditions are aligned with main contract conditions or risk transfer maximized
* Identify financial risks from non-compliance and report
* Incorporate special terms in subcontract agreements as needed
* Advise Estimating Department on contract terms and resource planning
* Prepare and recover claims
* Maintain contemporaneous records for maximum recovery
* Provide monthly Cost Value Reports and Margin Analysis
* Identify over/under valuation, reserves, and management adjustments
* Evaluate risks like prolongation costs and liabilities
* Forecast Margin, Programme, and Progress with Management
* Forecast contract turnover and adjust accordingly
* Review weekly WIP and Debtor reports with Quantity Surveyors
* Recruit, motivate, and develop staff; participate in training
* Conduct performance appraisals
About You:
* Experience in construction/telecommunications industries and standards knowledge
* Willingness to obtain security clearance to DV
* Experience on large defence/MoD projects is a plus
* Strong relationship-building skills
* Excellent team player with good communication skills
