An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Registered nurses to join Barnwell B ward, trauma and orthopedic ward, Kettering General Hospital. Barnwell B is a 24-bedded ward caring for surgical trauma and orthopedic patients. The primary focus is on patient care post-surgery or management of their condition. Full and part time hours are available. The post holder is expected to work closely with all disciplines to ensure the promotion of high standards for all patients requiring all aspects of nursing care, following appropriate training encompassing a variety of specialities. The role of the nurse is to provide a holistic, high quality, patient focused, comprehensive, efficient and safe service for the patients cared for at Kettering General Hospital, acting with responsibility, accountability and integrity, reporting adverse events and poor practice to the person in charge. The nurse would be expected to use resources and engage in change and service improvements effectively and responsibly. The post holder will always act in accordance with the NMC code and local standards of care and policies. Main duties of the job Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families. Assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members. Take responsibility for a ward or equivalent sphere of nursing, in the absence of the senior nurse or person who has continuing (24 hour) responsibility. Responsible for managing a group of staff in the absence of the senior nurse.
