You and Your Team: As a Head of Portfolio Analysis and Loss Forecasting, you will be reporting to the Head of Credit Risk. Your role is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the analysis and forecasting of portfolio performance and credit loss. You will provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to optimize portfolio performance and mitigate credit risk.
In your day-to-day role, as a Head of Portfolio Analysis and Loss Forecasting you will:
* Portfolio Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of the credit card, loans, and vehicle finance portfolios to identify trends, patterns, and risks. Utilize statistical models and data analytics techniques to gain insights into portfolio performance, credit quality, and risk exposure.
* Loss Forecasting: Develop and implement robust loss forecasting models for each portfolio to accurately predict credit losses. Collaborate with risk management and finance teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of loss forecasting methodologies.
* Portfolio Performance Monitoring: Monitor and track the performance of the credit card, loans, and vehicle finance portfolios on an ongoing basis. Identify areas of improvement and recommend strategies to optimize portfolio performance, including credit risk mitigation, pricing adjustments, and product enhancements.
* Reporting and Presentations: Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on portfolio performance, credit loss forecasts, and risk metrics. Present findings and recommendations to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies as needed.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of analysts responsible for portfolio analysis and loss forecasting. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture, providing guidance and support to ensure the team’s professional development and success.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, risk management, product development, and operations, to drive effective portfolio management strategies. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and effective execution of initiatives.
* Senior Leadership Team: Contribute to the overall leadership of the group’s credit risk function as a member of the credit risk Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
What will make you stand out?
* Extensive experience in portfolio analysis and credit risk management within the consumer credit industry.
* Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical modelling and data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
* Knowledge of credit card, loans, and vehicle finance products and associated risk factors.
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in portfolio analysis and loss forecasting.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
The interview process:
* Up to 30-minute telephone call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team.
* Up to 1 hour with the hiring team – via MS Teams.
* Final interview with the wider Credit Risk team.
