Utilities Manager
Chester or Worcester based with a balance of home and office working
£49,698 - £52,314 per year plus Company car or car allowance
35 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Utilities Manager to join our Construction Management team. This role sits within the larger Development department which is responsible for the delivery and development of the company’s affordable housing, market sale, grant funded and regeneration programmes and projects across the UK.
The role of Utilities Manager will include:
* Working alongside development and construction teams to provide technical knowledge and also making contact with utility suppliers/stats authority’s and contractors
* Working with the commercial team to obtain and review quotes and provide guidance to which quote to accept
* Managing the contracts on new build sites, working with site management teams to book in works, ensure areas are ready and ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in good time
* Looking at potential new developments to review what would be required in regard to stats to allow the work to take place. Looking at diversions and new supplies to development sites
* Working alongside the utilities team to ensure bills that have come in are correct and ensuring the commercial team have fund in the correct place for them to be processed and paid
* Looking to set up deals with utility providers to ensure the construction department gets good value for money at all times
Skills and experiences:
* Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification or knowledge and ability at an equivalent level
* Previous experience working in a similar role is essential
* Proven experience of coordinating installation of utilities across multiple sites
* Working knowledge of utilities regulation, building regulations, legislation and current practice, including the practical application of Health and Safety legislation
* Proven experience working within housing and construction
* Experience of delivering services within budget
* Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
* This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
