What's involved with this role: Interim Senior Transport Project Manager Reference no: Hampshire 107023 Pay Rate: up to £42.68 per hour PAYE max 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 7 months City: WINCHESTER Hybrid working A Senior Transport Project Manager is required to lead the successful delivery of business trans f or m ation and process change to support the Transport Service. The role sits within the Transport Delivery team, but works with Subject Matter Experts across the whole Transport Service. Your role will be to successfully project manage a business change process from inception through to completion, to challenging timescales. We are seeking candidates with relevant transport and project management experience, and an awareness of relevant transport legislation and the regulatory framework for environmental issues is desirable. Key Responsibilities: P roject manage a business transformation and process change, to support the Transport Service to meet legislative requirements in relation to Digital TROs and Moving Traffic Offences. S upport and lead a series of live projects to transform service delivery and develop a self-sufficient organisation. Prepare estimates, monitor and review project costs. P rovide successful project management throughout the life of a project from inception to implementation. Manage the preparation and assessment of tenders and contract documents with support from legal, procurement, finance and technical teams. R epresent the team and ultimately City Council at meetings, to assist and carry out consultations on Transport scheme proposals. Liaise with other departments, such as the Highways Maintenance PFI team, to ensure that the project interlinks as seamlessly as possible with the existing highway network. Key requirements: Educated to HND or degree standard in a relevant subject. An appropriate professional project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 practitioner level) and membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. APM) or demonstrated performance over a substantial period at this level. Knowledge and familiarity of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project. Extensive and relevant post graduate experience. In depth Transport Project Management experience Good experience with contracts. Experience of preparing reports and correspondence, using research and information gathering techniques Good analytical and problem solving skill, with an ability to prioritise workload in order to manage time effectively. This includes being able to work on own initiative and respond positively to workload pressures. Ability to lead small project teams through delegation and management Ability to manage business transformation and process change projects from initiation through to successful completion.
