The role…
Job Title: Executive Chef
Site: Westonbirt School, Tetbury, GL8
Working Days: 5 days out of 7 - Mainly Monday to Friday with events some weekends. Usual shifts: earliest start 6.30am, latest finish 7pm, event days finish up until 10pm.
Shifts & Working hours: 40 hours per week
Working Weeks: 52 weeks per year
Pay Details: £50,000 per year

Duties Include:
* Managing the kitchen, food production and service points at this prestigious co-educational independent day and boarding school.
* This includes catering for 1000 at lunch during the week plus breakfast, supper, and weekend feeding for the onsite boarders (around 150 meals per sitting).
* The site has an onsite nursery and prep school that are included with the site.
* You will oversee a kitchen team of 10 (2 x Sous, 3 x CDP, 1 x Pastry, 2 x GA & 2 x KP).
* As the face of the food, you will be responsible for making sure the food operation runs like clockwork.
* Your remit is kitchen-based and this includes stock ordering, hospitality menus, staff rotas, and food presentation.
* As part of the senior management team onsite, you will work hand in hand with the site General Manager to provide a seamless dining experience for all.
* The school is open term time; in the school holidays, the space is open to families and for events for holiday lets - only closing across Christmas.
* As Executive Chef, you will be financially accountable for the unit attaining its GP/COGs.
* Maintaining a high level of food safety and hygiene compliance at all times.
Your Background...
* With proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate staff, you will have managed a team of at least 6 chefs and be used to multi-site delivery points.
* As an experienced executive chef, you will have strong technical cooking skills with a background in independent school catering.
* The ability to work in challenging environments while maintaining high standards is a must.
* This role requires sound organisational skills and strong administrative skills - being able to make sure the right food is in the right place and service runs smoothly across daily dining, events, and all hospitality.
