Capital Projects Commercial Manager (Sustainable Energy)

Are you an experienced Capital Projects Commercial Manager with EPC experience delivering high value capital projects between £20m and £200m in a complex commercial environment? Would you like to be a key senior manager in a well-funded, stable business experiencing high growth and delivering some of the UK's most exciting sustainable energy projects where you will be the face of the business, delivering high value management services, maintenance, and revenue management contracts?

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of service-based commercial activities, optimising profitability, and fostering strong client relationships.
You will be an exceptional candidate from a large capital project background with the ability to deliver high value capital projects, lead the commercial negotiations on EPC contracts, achieve value and risk mitigation, while maximising development profitability, and fostering strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute effective commercial strategies in alignment with company goals and objectives.
2. Maintain a close watching brief on market developments, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to identify future business opportunities and potential risks in the current strategies.
3. Engage with regulators and market stakeholders.
4. Negotiate commercial aspects of major plant procurement and construction contracts and assist the project management team with contract management.
5. Collaborate cross-functionally with projects, trading, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure alignment and support for commercial initiatives.
6. Work closely with the CEO to support key project off-taker and financing relationships within a corporate environment.
7. Commercial responsibility to deliver project pipeline.
8. Deliver complex financial models for projects, working with other teams.
9. Support forward tenders for project services.
10. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners to promote strategic objectives and enhance the company's opportunities.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in STEM, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related field; MBA or relevant post-graduate degree preferred.
2. Proven experience (3+ years) as a Commercial Manager or similar role, preferably within the energy sector or other engineering sector.
3. Track record of successful commercial strategic development and implementation.
4. Experience in the corporate environment in a commercial position.
5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
6. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
7. Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
8. In-depth understanding of market research, business development, and financial principles.
