The Role:
As part of a small Library Management Team, you will have a key role in managing the specialist elements of the Library Service.
You will:
* Manage specialist library staff
* Develop stock collections
* Develop the information and enquiry service
* Contribute to library design and income generation, managing projects as required
* Oversee routine and reactive building maintenance
* Develop the digital offer
* Manage library promotions and communications
What we are looking for:
* Love of books, reading and people with an understanding of the value of the public library service to communities and individuals
* Excellent digital skills
* De-escalation skills
* You will be part of the senior Duty shift rota, working varying shifts including earlies, lates and weekends
* You will work across all library locations in the Borough and must be able to carry boxes of books, push loaded book trolleys and be on your feet for long periods of time
