COMMERCIAL & PROCUREMENT SOLICITOR - NEWCASTLE 4+PQE
A prestigious Newcastle firm is seeking a dedicated Commercial and Public Procurement Associate or Senior Associate to join its award-winning team. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious commercial and procurement lawyer with expertise in negotiating and drafting a broad array of contractual arrangements. Knowledge or a keen interest in health and other public sector contracting is essential, as is experience with public procurement law. Familiarity with subsidy control law, or a willingness to develop expertise in this area, would be advantageous.
You will be involved in major projects encompassing the full range of commercial and public procurement law work, advising on the right structure and processes for public procurements under relevant regulations. You will be drafting procurement documents, negotiating commercial contracts, managing projects, and providing risk-based advice.
Experience progressing drafting, and negotiating a diverse range of commercial contracting matters across various sectors is useful, ideally including health, central government, local government, and utilities sectors, although candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
You will ideally have a minimum of 4 years PQE in commercial and public procurement law, and a strong interest in the health and social care sector and public sector contracting. Solid drafting and negotiation skills are essential, as well as previous involvement in large procurement projects, providing pragmatic, risk-focused advice.
