Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor for a waste management company based in Letchworth. This is a temp-perm position with the opportunity to go full time. Our client needs a well-rounded individual who can think on their feet and work in a fast-paced environment. This is a Monday-Friday position with start times varying between 06:00 or 08:00.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all operations are compliant with Health and Safety Standards, Company Policies, Procedures, and Waste Management Legislation.
* Effective management of resources and services; report any problems to Contract Manager.
* Ensure your team and operations meet targets.
* Conduct daily and weekly audits to ensure all operations meet Health and Safety Standards.
* Maintain work reports and vehicle logs.
* Update employee-related paperwork to include time sheets, holidays, and sickness/absence.
* Organise staff communications, meetings, and training.
* Carry out any other reasonable job-related tasks as the company may require you to undertake from time to time.
Key Knowledge / Qualifications
* Management or Supervisory qualification.
* Effective organisational and planning skills.
* Previous experience working in the Waste Industry.
* Experience in quality control.
* Experience in conducting audits.
* IOSH qualification.
Key Characteristics
* Previous experience of working with or managing a team.
* Previous experience of street sweeping and/or refuse collection (as appropriate).
* Minimum basic computer skills.
* LGV Licence (desirable), Digital Tacho Card, Valid CPC Card (as appropriate).
* Must be willing to assist on street cleansing/collections as required.
