Our client, a leading European venture capital firm that partners with ambitious founders using technology to drive global change, is seeking a Communications Manager to join their growing team. The firm, founded by experienced operators, provides hands-on support to high-growth startups, helping them scale and navigate complex communications challenges. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the public narrative of both the firm and its portfolio companies, elevating their presence across international markets.
The Communications Manager will be responsible for shaping and executing the firm’s external communications strategy, supporting portfolio companies, and managing key media relationships. This role offers a dynamic mix of content creation, media outreach, and event coordination.
Role:
* Acting as the primary media contact for portfolio company announcements across Europe and the US, driving proactive media engagement
* Developing compelling content across multiple channels, including blog posts, social media, video content, newsletters, and presentations
* Supporting the firm’s flagship reports, campaigns, and policy efforts in collaboration with senior leadership
* Managing an active press office, handling media inquiries, and orchestrating high-impact media moments for senior executives and portfolio founders
* Coordinating speaker opportunities at key industry events to enhance visibility for both the firm and its portfolio companies
* Maintaining and refining a Preferred Supplier Programme to ensure portfolio companies receive best-in-class communications support
* Building and nurturing professional networks in key European tech hubs, including London, Paris, Berlin, and Stockholm
* Collaborating closely with internal teams, including investment and investor relations, to align communications efforts with business objectives
Requirements:
* Proven experience in communications, spanning agency roles and in-house positions at technology companies or high-growth startups
* Extensive media relationships across Europe, particularly in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and the Nordics
* Proven ability to execute campaigns with measurable impact on brand awareness and business outcomes
* Strong writing skills, with a meticulous approach to messaging, tone, and audience engagement
* Fluency in additional European languages (French, German, or Spanish) is highly desirable
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
* A team player with a collaborative mindset, prioritising collective success over individual recognition
