We currently sell to over 70 international markets, offering our 6 million active customers a personalised shopping experience and the ability to purchase from a wide range of products using multiple delivery methods and payment types. eCommerce is the biggest department at Next and is based across multiple sites and countries, working across development, testing, support, architecture and more to keep ourselves ahead of the pack. About the Team Working in one of the largest QA teams in the country, made up of Manual and Automation Testers of varying levels but also skilled Developers and Product Development Managers as part of the wider eCommerce department. This team focuses on continual delivery of functionality which ensures our customers have the best shopping experience across our UK and international sites. eCommerce Systems create all our websites in-house and mobile apps for our UK and International eCommerce platforms, then deploy & manage them. All websites and apps are still growing and continually need testing. About the Role We are looking for a skilled Senior Test Analyst to join our growing eCommerce team and to play a crucial role in helping Next drive forward in a fast moving retail environment. You will need extensive experience in automation and manual testing to help to implement a range of test strategies across our web-based and mobile-based applications. In this role you will also work on various projects on our eCommerce platform and will play a big part pushing the department forward. Using your expert knowledge around automation, you’ll write automated tests (including unit and integration), and test across multiple platforms. You’ll be building automation frameworks from scratch, working with different tools and automation architectures to drive continuous improvement of testing scripts ensuring optimal coverage. You’ll work with other disciplines including functional and non-functional testing, security, and API testing. Essential Criteria Extensive experience with test automation e.g. Selenium, C#, Visual studio, NUnit are preferred Experience with other programming languages (e.g. Java, Python) will also be considered Knowledge of test automation frameworks that validate functionality at different levels of the technology stack Able to assess test coverage using automated tools CI/CD experience (desirable) Experience of developing and maintaining automation frameworks for Web/APIs/Microservices Knowledge of Agile techniques (e.g. BDD, TDD) Experience of creating and maintaining automated C# test suites You are collaborative by default and are a team player You are proactive in seeking out and evaluating emerging technologies and practices that can add value to the platform Focus on sharing knowledge with the team (you’ll help the Analysts develop better, more relevant tests) Knowledge of Agile practice Technical skills required Selenium Web Driver Appium C# .NET MS SQL Testing Web API’s Azure DevOps Gherkin Cucumber BDD ISTQB/ISEB You’ll be doing all this from our Doncaster office on a hybrid basis each week.
