As a Project Manager for Ancillary Works, you’ll play a key role in shaping how vital supporting infrastructure is designed and delivered — from technical galleries and utilities to access routes and foundations. The work is varied, fast-paced, and critical to the success of the wider construction programme. You’ll be hands-on with problem-solving, design development, procurement, and stakeholder engagement, gaining exposure to all phases of a major infrastructure programme with direct links to Hinkley Point C’s learnings and best practices. About the Role We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Civil Works Programme and lead the successful delivery of complex civil engineering scopes, focused specifically on technical galleries. The role involves managing engineering, procurement, and manufacturing workstreams to ensure the timely delivery of key contracts valued up to £500m. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team supporting the final investment decision and transition into the delivery phase. This is an opportunity to work closely with the Responsible Designer, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders, while applying lessons learnt from Hinkley Point C and driving intelligent replication at Sizewell C. Key Responsibilities Manage engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with project needs and replication strategies Support contract development, procurement, and technical specification preparation Drive SZC-specific design changes into deliverables and contract documents Coordinate internal and external interfaces across contract and systems scopes Lead engagement with suppliers and regulators to identify risks to delivery Develop project execution plans, defining scope, budget, and schedule requirements Ensure delivery of contracts meets business, safety, quality, and technical standards Support contract award preparation and transition into construction Required Skills & Experience Essential: Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience within civil or nuclear sectors Strong technical understanding of complex buildings and associated regulations Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage key project interfaces Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Degree qualified in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline Desirable: Experience delivering within a regulated, high-complexity environment Knowledge of nuclear design, procurement, or construction processes Experience with Primavera P6 or PRINCE2 methodology Chartered Engineer or Chartered Project Manager Team & Culture You’ll report to the Senior Project Manager and be part of a growing and supportive team that includes fellow Project Managers, an Apprentice, and a new Assistant Project Manager joining soon.
