We are currently seeking passionate SEN / SEND Teachers to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of vulnerable learners.
We support children and young people with a variety of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and other additional educational needs. Through our tailored approach, we aim to support both the academic and emotional development of every student.

The Role:
As a SEN / SEND Teacher at Study Mind, you will:
•Provide 1:1 Maths, English, or Science tuition to students with SEND, SEMH, and other additional needs.
•Design personalised lesson plans and deliver structured teaching sessions that cater to the unique needs of each student.
•Adapt your teaching methods to create engaging and supportive learning experiences for each student.
•Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to families and schools to ensure continuous support.
•Work collaboratively with local authorities and schools to ensure the holistic development of each student.
SEN / SEND Teacher Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Plan each lesson to suit individual learning styles, ensuring academic and emotional development.
• Deliver engaging lessons tailored to the specific needs of each student, fostering both academic achievement and personal growth.
• Provide regular progress updates through lesson reports and feedback to the wider support network, including families and local authorities.
•Ensure that each lesson is trauma-informed and meets the holistic needs of the student, addressing both academic and emotional requirements.
Essential Requirements:
• Teaching Qualifications : A relevant teaching qualification such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent.
• Experience : Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, with at least 1 year of experience working with students with SEND.
• Knowledge : Understanding of SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and other additional needs, with the ability to tailor teaching methods accordingly.
• Safeguarding Knowledge : Understanding of safeguarding practices, with a commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• DBS : An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to Work : You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including for remote assignments.
Desirable Skills and Experience (Not Essential):
•Specialist knowledge in autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH, or other additional needs.
• Training in safeguarding, de-escalation techniques, or mental health support .
•Experience with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) .
• Driving license and access to a vehicle (for in-person tutoring).
