OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Marine Liaison Harbour Manager and MAP for our major client located in Immingham. This role is particularly critical in large-scale construction projects that involve marine construction, dredging, and port expansion projects like the IERRT RoRo Project.
Job Summary:
A Marine Liaison Manager on a construction project is responsible for ensuring effective communication and coordination between the construction team and maritime stakeholders, including vessel operators, port authorities, marine contractors, regulatory agencies, and any other parties involved in maritime logistics.
The Marine Liaison Manager plays a vital role in the success of a construction project that involves marine logistics. This position bridges the gap between the construction team and the marine environment, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe operations related to vessel movements, cargo transport, and compliance with maritime laws and environmental regulations. The role requires a combination of technical maritime expertise, project management skills, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities to support the overall construction project.

Technical Skills and Competencies:
* Marine Knowledge: Strong understanding of maritime logistics, vessel operations, and port regulations, including shipping, harbour operations, and marine safety standards.
* Project Management Skills: Ability to manage complex schedules, resources, and multiple stakeholders in a high-pressure environment.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and resolve logistical and operational challenges in a maritime context.
* Regulatory Expertise: Familiarity with maritime laws and regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL), as well as environmental and safety regulations governing marine operations.
* Have excellent communication skills (including presentation skills) in English, both written and verbal, management and organisational skills.
* Ability to plan ahead, manage the work time frames and report to Project level.
* A good working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations and other relevant legislation.
* Excellent organisation and people management/ team building skills.
* Have a working understanding of NEC form of contract.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
* Be educated to degree or higher level Engineering discipline or a lower educational level (HNC or HND) with a very significant level of experience.
* Harbour Master experience.
* Marine Liaison Harbour Master and MAP for significant marine construction projects.
* Membership of an appropriate Professional body, typically Chartered member or Fellow of a Professional Institute or hold an equivalent professional status.
* Demonstrate significant experience of complex marine construction projects
* Demonstrate excellent presentation, negotiation skills organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time.
* SMSTS qualification.
