Locum Consultant in Paediatric Dermatology
This is a 10PA locum appointment for a Locum Consultant Dermatologist with special interests in skin cancer and Paediatric Dermatology services. This post will be a 6-month position.
This post will deliver 10PAs supporting the Dermatology team. The post-holder will provide support for the skin cancer services, delivering 2-week wait skin cancer clinics and skin cancer surgery, as well as Paediatric Dermatology and General Dermatology clinics.
The post will be based at Chapel Allerton Hospital.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To contribute to and enhance the provision of the paediatric dermatology service.
2. To enhance the current provision of rapid access diagnostic skin cancer clinics and enable the Trust to meet agreed levels of activity and access targets.
3. To enhance the current provision of skin cancer surgery.
4. To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive skin cancer multidisciplinary team.
5. To contribute to enhancing the current provision for general dermatology services.

Job Responsibilities
This post, within the Leeds Centre for Dermatology, principally based at Chapel Allerton Hospital, offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative skin cancer team as well as the opportunity to develop a stimulating combination of clinical, teaching, and research work in the field of cutaneous oncology. Leeds is a world-recognised centre for the management of skin cancer and offers all the skin cancer treatment modalities locally.
The unit hosts the Regional Specialist MDT for Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer, Melanoma, and Cutaneous Lymphoma. There are also close working relationships with the Head and Neck MDT and the Sarcoma MDT.
The post holder will be a member of the non-melanoma MDT. The paediatric dermatology team includes Dermatologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Nurse Practitioners. The successful applicant will join 4 other existing dermatology consultants working in the paediatric dermatology clinics.
Person Specification
Clinical Experience and Career Progression
* Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of dermatology including skin cancer diagnosis and treatment.
* Experience of Paediatric Dermatology.
Eligibility, Fitness to Practice, and Language Skills
* Full Registration with the GMC and the right to work in the UK.
Clinical, Academic, and Personal
* Evidence of the ability to carry out medical research.
