As an electromechanical engineer, you will use your mechanical design engineering and electrical expertise to lead and develop new system designs (equipment / machinery) concepts and technology solutions from idea through to commercially viable solutions for the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. To lead mechanical & electrical engineering activities to support the detailed design and development of machinery / systems equipment.
2. To support communications with company internal teams (specifically the team in the US) including any contracted engineers to create functional solutions to project requirements.
3. To work with suppliers in the design, manufacture and delivery of production line components.
4. To lead work on prototyping and design verification testing to support design & development of mechanical designs, optimization, cost reduction and quality improvement.
5. To design and deliver appropriate approaches to design verification, prototyping, materials selection and testing.
6. To integrate new technologies into new production lines and potential new product development, as well as fault-finding / improvement / enhancement on existing products and systems.
7. To assist with the design, development and operation of the company's existing UK pilot line.
8. To work and interact with other skillsets in science and engineering to optimize production line manufacturability, cost and quality.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Degree-educated e.g. (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, etc).
2. An excellent understanding of commercial mechanical technology / systems / equipment designing for future trends/ technologies.
3. Pyrolysis experience - essential both large and small scale operations.
4. Proficient in CAD (ideally Solidworks & Navisworks Certified. Any experience on differing software packages to be assessed).
5. Desirable - Knowledge and experience in the drafting and delivery of mechanical and electrical drawings (e.g.: P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, Electrical One Line Diagrams, Service Connection Drawings etc.)
6. Hands-on development of working prototypes through to validation of commercial systems.
7. Experience in managing numerous external partners: from initiating technical briefs and requirements, remote problem solving, managing updates and reporting progress to the broader team and leadership.
8. Project management and budget management skills and experience would be beneficial.
9. Understanding of project timescales and how the role contributes to the broader R&D innovation pipeline.
