Key Responsibilities of a SEND Teaching Assistant:
1. Provide one-on-one support to students with SEND, assisting with their educational and personal development.
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
3. Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence.
4. Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement tailored support plans for students with SEND.
5. Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports.
Requirements of a SEND Teaching Assistant:
1. Previously worked as a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience in a mainstream school.
2. Level 3 qualification is desirable.
3. A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
5. SEND experience is essential.
6. Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings.
