Main Purpose of the role Your role as a Senior Assembly Technician is to coordinate ‘timely’ assembly of equipment / machines to meet agreed deadlines for production (WIP) schedule. Ensure assembly standards for right first time, efficiency, TM utilisation cost and service level / On time delivery are consistently achieved. Provide effective communication with other departments and Operations Team. Provide fast resolution to any issues raised by assembly team. Primary Responsibilities Responsibility for complete assembly, testing and commissioning work on-time and to the correct specification and quality standards. Provide a level of support to team members, helping them respond to ANDON calls in a timely manner To ensure full compliance with UK Health and Safety Regulations. To ensure full compliance with Ishida’s quality standards Ensure KPI targets for RFT, efficiency, Utilisation, cost and service level / on time delivery are consistently achieved. To champion continuous improvement activities. To adhere to all deadlines and targets set by the Production Manager. To instruct, coach and develop team members as required. Establish good working relationship with assembly teams, planning, purchasing, sales and other key members of Operations. Reporting of Health and Safety issues to the Production Manager. What skills are we looking for? The successful candidate must have checkweigher (DACS) building experience, have the ability to manage safety risks within a working environment for themselves and others, have basic understanding of mechanical principles, able to communicate with leadership, prioritise workload in accordance with customer demands, plan resource against schedule and manage resource dynamically with other Teams, be able to identify process waste, must have the ability to read technical drawings, consistently produce a high standard service, ability to work efficiently, health and safety awareness and have good knowledge of the equipment and tools. The right candidate will possess a good attention to detail, self-motivated, flexible and willing to learn and develop. You will be able to consistently achieve ‘Right First Time’ performance against cost and time scale targets. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
