About the Role:
Our client is at the forefront of their industry, operating a busy and complex site where the reliability of essential services is crucial. As a Site Services Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing the site's refrigeration systems, steam boilers, air compressors, and water and effluent services. Your work will be essential to keeping the site running smoothly and efficiently, ensuring that both production and safety standards are consistently met.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Maintenance & Repair: You'll be responsible for the upkeep of key site services, including refrigeration, steam boilers, air compressors, and water systems. Your technical expertise will help minimise downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
2. Planned Preventative Maintenance: Execute and oversee planned maintenance tasks, ensuring that all systems are maintained to the highest standards and in compliance with safety regulations.
3. Problem-Solving: Respond to breakdowns and system faults swiftly, using your experience to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions, particularly within complex systems like ammonia refrigeration and compressed air.
4. Collaborative Working: Build strong working relationships with other engineering teams and supervisors, ensuring that all site services are maintained without disruption to production.
5. Health & Safety Compliance: Work closely with the Health and Safety officer to ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to statutory regulations, maintaining a safe environment for all employees.
What We're Looking For:
1. Qualifications: A recognised apprenticeship or progressive training in Mechanical Engineering, with an appropriate technical qualification.
2. Experience: Proven track record as a Building Services Technician or Site Services Engineer, ideally with experience in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of ammonia and cooling systems, steam boilers, and air compressors is highly desirable.
3. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to building operations, including actuators, sensors, water systems, pumps, chillers, and compressed air systems.
4. Attributes: Excellent team skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to make decisions under pressure. You should be PC literate, fluent in English, and comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
