Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Qualifications and Experience
Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through:
1. A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience OR trade discipline qualified with a minimum 7 years relevant practical experience.
2. Broad and deep technical knowledge of construction discipline and associated processes.
3. Ability to identify risk to delivery and build in mitigation/contingency plans.
4. Substantial experience interpreting discipline documentation.
5. Sound knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments (RA) and Hazard in Construction (HAZCON).
6. Substantial knowledge and understanding of technical specifications, codes and standards.
7. Comprehensive understanding of Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM) Regulations 2015.
8. Demonstrable experience in the role of Principal Contractor and CDM duties throughout the execution phase of the project, in conjunction with an understanding of Client, Principal Designer and Designer Duties.
9. Awareness of Temporary Works, and understanding the requirements for design and construction of site Temporary Works (TW).
Minimum Qualifications
1. Suitable academic qualifications (ONC/HNC) in a relevant Engineering discipline or appropriate level of field construction experience or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
2. Vocational Qualification such as NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management is an advantage.
3. SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS, CCNSG.
Desirable Experience & Skills
1. Good knowledge of GMP within a Pharmaceutical Environment.
2. Demonstrable experience in the management of multi-disciplined projects in the pharmaceutical, batch chemical production or other relevant industries is preferred.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Strong effective delegation skills.
5. Exposure to and familiarity with working within a technical environment.
