Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate estimates and tenders for mechanical projects, ensuring competitive and profitable bids in alignment with company objectives. Key Responsibilities: Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project scope. Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical services, including plumbing, and pipework systems. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and labour. Conduct risk analysis and ensure accurate cost forecasting. Collaborate with internal teams, including design and project management, to develop comprehensive bids. Attend site visits, pre-tender meetings, and post-tender negotiations as required. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market trends, pricing, and construction methodologies. Support the handover process to the delivery team for successful projects. Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the UK construction industry. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and pipework. Familiarity with relevant software, Ensign, AutoCAD, Excel). Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. Knowledge of UK building regulations and construction standards. Desirable: HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field. Membership in a professional body (e.g., CIBSE, BESA) is advantageous.
