The role SumUp are on a mission to build the ultimate go-to-market engine. To help achieve that mission, we are seeking a Data Analyst to strengthen and support SumUp's strategic Marketing initiatives. This role partners with the Trade Marketing Lead to identify business needs, then construct data models, generate reports and dashboards, offer advanced analysis and actionable insights to drive improvement in our online channels. You will make a significant contribution to the business by being a valued business partner, a member of an experienced data team and by actively participating in the development of the analytics chapter. What you’ll do: Build from scratch a EU Database to collect stores info from various sources Build, along with the Trade Marketing Lead, data collection processes and WoW Analyse large datasets from various sources (payment transactions, customer behavior, operational metrics) to derive actionable insights and trends. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that effectively communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders. Collaborate with the Go to market team to identify business needs and provide data-driven recommendations. Conduct ad-hoc analysis and research to support decision-making and strategic initiatives. Help design and implement A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of new product features, pricing models, and marketing strategies. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data across various systems and platforms. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analytics to continually improve processes and tools. You’ll be great for this role if you have: 3–4 years of experience in an analytical role, including at least 1 year of hands-on experience with data analytics. A natural curiosity and strong analytical skills, with the ability to apply quantitative analysis and logical reasoning to inform and influence business decisions as well as extract meaningful insights. Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning is a plus. You enjoy tackling challenging questions and finding the right data to answer them. You can adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset to effectively collaborate with leadership and the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders. Italian as second or first language Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to work closely with other departments to achieve company goals. You take ownership of your work, anticipate needs, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
