The opportunity
As part of the Local Government and Communities sector operating across England and Wales, you will be integral to the development plans of the South East Region. You will lead the Cost and Commercial Management Discipline across the Local Government Business Unit in the South East, working alongside the Project and Programme Management Lead. You will take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery on large and complex projects, portfolios, and programmes, and lead the development of the Cost and Commercial Service strategy to support growth in the region.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Contributing to the development of strategic management plans.
2. Providing line management and overseeing recruitment.
3. Managing resources and driving the achievement of regional objectives.
4. Leading Quality Assurance across the discipline, ensuring compliance with processes.
5. Leading teams of professionals on large projects.
6. Managing senior level customer relationships for the region.
7. Engaging clients regarding our service offering.
8. Identifying, coaching, and mentoring talent.
9. Contributing to business growth and market positioning.
10. Managing contract and commercial procedures and Business Unit Budget / P&L.
11. Identifying and analyzing business opportunities and risks.
12. Understanding construction technology, planning, delivery, and sustainability.
13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
14. Ability to engage, motivate, and coach others.
15. Supporting the growth of regional teams.
16. External Networking, Collaboration, and Business Development.
17. Ability to deal with conflicting demands and juggle priorities.
About you
You have a bachelor's degree and are a member of a relevant institute. You have a track record of winning and delivering work for public sector clients, and a good working knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting, and financial modelling. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships, and lead high-performing teams within a commercial environment.
