Project Engineer (Structured, Fibre and Voice Cabling systems) Location: Devonport Contract: Permanent NG Bailey IT Services are currently recruiting a Project Engineer / Structured Cabling Engineer who will successfully plan and control day-to-day activities in support of customer projects, in order to deliver them to the time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction objectives as defined by the Project Manager. In addition to this, they will supervise field-based staff and sub-contractors as required. This position is working across military sites, therefore Security Clearance is required and is a condition of employment. Responsibilities You will: Project Delivery - To manage all related activities to the successful completion of the projects in line with agreed quality and commercial plans to achieve targets within agreed timescales and cost constraints. Technical - Ensuring design and installation meets internal and client specifications and statutory requirement Identifying & assisting the Project Manager with change control, including adds, omits & delays, having the ability to create bill of materials (Excel) Producing quality audit reports for internal use, including snagging of works & remedial action plans Implementation & monitoring of Inspection & test plans including equipment calibration & correct settings Team Leadership - To provide leadership for the project delivery team and to maximise the potential of the team and the individuals within. Have evident experience of the installation of Structured Cabling Systems (Cat5e, Cat6 & Cat6a systems) Plan future activities - Identify relevant milestones associated with a long term project and plan the sequence of key events Daily contact with PMO staff to ensure all internal processes are adhered to (works orders / PO / GRN) Conduct Health & Safety activities such as, but not limited to: RAMS / POWRA / Tool Box Talks / Don’t Walk By’s / SHE Tour forms / Stand downs Conducting quality audits Experience Essential Evident experience of the installation of Structured Cabling Systems Fully conversant with the setup and operation of Fluke Analysers The ability to locate and rectify faults on Structured Cabling and Voice systems. Ability to work from construction drawings. Able to self-manage workload without supervision. Able to be a team leader as well as a team player. Lone working – ability to work remotely. Able to use initiative and applying a forward-thinking mind set. Demonstrate the ability to interface with customers with a professional and informative approach. Willing to travel. Experience Desirable Understanding of National Security Inspectorate (NSI) process and requirements related to electronic security systems.
