The fellow, together with Orthopaedic Specialist Registrars, will have responsibility for overseeing care of patients under the care of BFAU. The post holder will be closely supervised in outpatients and in the operating theatre. It is expected that over the tenure of the post the successful candidate will undertake an increasing level of independent practise dependent upon progress along with operating independently in parallel lists. Ideally the first 6 months will be spent between Trauma and doing open surgery whilst the second 6 months will include more minimally invasive work with a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. The Fellow may also undertake an independent research clinic in an area of their choice along with the Virtual Fracture Clinic.
