Advanced Pharmacist - Cancer
Band 8a
As a trusted organisation at the heart of our communities, we recognise the important role we can play in supporting the public, patients, our own people and local partners in achieving the best of health for the local population and the communities in which they live by providing Exceptional Care Together.
Our fundamental Values of Compassion, Openness and Excellence underpin how we intend to work as a Trust and the associated behaviours are becoming embedded in all aspects of how we work.
The Cancer Pharmacist Team at UHDB has long held a high reputation for their proactive and innovative work, effective use of cutting-edge technology, and an unparalleled responsiveness to implementing new treatments into the Trust.
Working across multiple sites, the team has embraced true collaborative cross-site working, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing chemotherapy in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
The team also comprises several non-medical prescribers supporting clinicians in chemotherapy clinics, independently prescribing SACT, managing toxicities, and providing support and advice to patients. Their contribution to the service has reduced clinician workload, reduced waiting times, and improved patient experience.
The successful post holders will operate within a hybrid-role model, consolidating traditional pharmacist duties with non-medical prescribing, with 0.5WTE dedicated to each aspect of the role.
Please note this is a cross-site post, and successful post holders will be expected to work across Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Burton Hospital as required.
