Job Overview
Be in charge of the nursing care within the Radiology Department under the supervision of the Senior Nurse.
Ensure all clinical sessions are run effectively and efficiently, by promoting and maintaining Radiology standards and protocols.
Maintain high standards of nursing care.
Provide skilled evidence-based nursing care, social care advice, and health promotion/education to patients and carers.
Undertake delegated line management responsibilities of other staff members including personal development, planning, and individual performance reviews.
Assist, liaise, and support the Senior Nurse in all aspects of departmental management ensuring effective and efficient leadership and development of clinical areas, leading to service improvement.
Address deficits in service requirement; assist with improvements to service delivery.
The postholder will implement organisational policies and contribute to service and policy change.
Main Duties of the Job
The Radiology Department at Ysbyty Gwynedd is seeking to appoint into the team an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated staff nurse with previous experience relevant to this specialist area of work. The successful candidate will be required to assist with nursing care and support in all areas of the department, which will include involvement with complex procedures undertaken in the Interventional Radiology Suite, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, CT, MR, and Ultrasound Scanning. Working with patients and staff within all of these modalities provides a diverse and engaging environment.
The qualities required of a radiology nurse include being a caring, supportive, and motivated professional to advocate for the patient, whilst ensuring safety, respecting the Health Board values, and having a desire to work within a dynamic and inspiring team.
