A new and dynamic opportunity has arisen within our Planning Team on site. How will you contribute?
1. Produce & manage daily transport plan for several major retail customers within the Wincanton network including store deliveries, salvage collections, backhaul stock collections, and other work as required.
2. Ensure plan produced is accurate and efficient, building upon feedback to make improvements to the plan.
3. Manage day to day booking of agency drivers and support production of accurate driver rotas.
4. Support and lead development changes including seasonal, network, and project changes to delivery schedules.
5. Help drive backhaul growth by working closely with backhaul team to identify opportunity areas to target.
What will you bring?
1. Ensure cost-effective efficient plan is produced on daily basis for all transport operations.
2. Develop planning tools and systems to drive commercial benefits and CI improvements across the contract.
3. Support planning for future changes, developments, improvements and customer requirements.
4. Improve and develop forecasting to ensure resource is appropriately managed.
5. Work with Customer Demand, Planning and warehouse teams to ensure accurate information and plans are aligned and produced on a daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic basis.
6. Help develop and grow synergy opportunities within Wincanton network.
7. Work with Transport Teams to create effective and controlled driver rotas.
8. Develop best in class planning function.
9. Ensure plan is effectively resourced with core and agency drivers.
10. Seek feedback on plans created and explore opportunities to improve plans using a variety of sources from driver forums, transport workshops, activity sheets, systems data, and store feedback.
Minimum Requirements:
* Planning experience in fast-paced retail environment (Essential)
* Paragon or other TMS Planning experience, ideally in a retail environment
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong background in retail and transport
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to make clear decisions with rationale to support.
