Job Title: Senior Field Service Engineer Location - Inverness (Field based role) Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8 AM - 5 PM; Friday, 8 AM - 3 PM Salary: Competitive, based on experience I am working with leading provider of biomass boiler systems who are looking to expand their team by recruiting a full-time Senior Field Service Engineer. Role Overview: I am on the lookout for a Senior Field Service Engineer who is eager to advance in the biomass sector. It's an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient individual with a solid foundation in Commercial Plumbing & Heating and/or the Commercial Electrical Industry. Full Specialised training in biomass systems will be provided, so experience in that area is not required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and a desire for growth. As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you will oversee ongoing planned and reactive maintenance, perform daily repairs, and ensure that commercial biomass heating installations comply with legislative and contractual standards. Your role will involve a variety of tasks to guarantee the optimal performance and reliability of our systems. Core Responsibilities: Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on commercial heating systems, including pumps, control valves, pressurisation units, and associated mechanical/electrical services, including control systems, fuel stores, and augers. Quickly transition into the biomass sector through tailored training courses and on-site learning workshops relevant to the equipment you will maintain. Respond efficiently to breakdowns and equipment failures, diagnosing issues and implementing repairs using your engineering expertise to minimise downtime. Perform servicing tasks to high standards, ensuring compliance with legislation and contracts. Maintain detailed records of all work completed on-site using a company tablet and cloud-based asset management software. Deliver exceptional customer service by integrating with client representatives on-site and fostering strong relationships with key members of our client's teams. Collaborate with internal team members and departments to ensure smooth operations. Essential Criteria: SNVQ (or equivalent) in Commercial Plumbing & Heating and/or Electrical Installation. Valid Driving License. A minimum of 5 years experience in a related industry. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and heating principles. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to diagnostics. Proficient with hand tools and trade-specific equipment. Background in commercial heating systems with hands-on experience on-site. Strong technical skills with a proactive approach. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in the biomass sector. Additional certifications in heating, plumbing, or electrical disciplines.
