Clinical Healthcare Support Workers (CHCSW's) are an essential role to aid the smooth running of the breast clinics at Thirlestaine. Without a CHCSW, the breast clinics can not run. CHCSW's assist with the following: - To assist in the smooth running of the symptomatic clinics, breast screening and results clinics. - Working with all members of the breast care team to assist in the chaperoning and efficient movement of patients around the breast centre. - Ensuring clinics start on time. Completing clinics with notes and paperwork correctly filed and clinic rooms stocked and tidied. -Caring for patients who have received bad news and caring for those patients who are going through cancer treatment. - A requirement of the role is to position and manoeuvre patients and equipment on a daily basis. -To assist clinician with breast biopsies, examinations, ultrasounds and mammograms. - Cover the service to ensure safe delivery of care and clinics.
