Project Engineer
We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Engineering & Manufacturing department and bridge the gap between Design, NPI, and Production. The ideal candidate will bring a forward-thinking approach to the design, development, and optimisation of manufacturing processes.

Description
As Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in introducing new products for the defence sector. You will support early design concepts with Design for Manufacture (DFM) workshops, developing processes and overseeing low-rate initial production. Your efforts will ensure a seamless transition to full-rate production.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Collaborate with design & manufacturing teams to ensure new products and processes are introduced efficiently and controllably.
2. Ensure designs can be manufactured continuously and at scale.
3. Establish and innovate production systems to enhance capabilities.
4. Introduce best-in-class practices based on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
5. Lead Manufacturing Readiness Levels to ensure timely production with optimal processes, production lines, and tooling.
6. Develop initial manufacturing documentation including SOPs, process control cards, PFMEAs, and control plans.
7. Initiate and implement new business practices leveraging industry knowledge.
8. Communicate industrialisation strategy and business plan actions to the team and relevant stakeholders.
9. Participate in development planning and training; maintain professional accreditation and stay updated with industry practices.
Profile
A successful Project Engineer should have:
1. A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is desirable.
2. Must have a background within New Product launch.
3. Be able to produce PFMEAs in order to track projects from start to finish.
4. A background within defence or aerospace.
5. Must be able to pass Security Clearance.
6. Full right to work in the UK.
Job Offer
A competitive salary in the range of £40,000 - £45,000
