The Role
Due to internal growth, we currently have a full-time opportunity in our Maintenance team for a Fitter on weekend day shift! This role is a permanent full-time opportunity, working Friday – Sunday from 5:30am - 5:30pm.
Purpose of the Role
* Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity in a safe manner.
* Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to communicate equipment status, particularly during shift changes.
* Maintain safety and compliance standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
* Work with the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors to conduct root cause analysis on failures and ensure follow-up on identified actions.
* Maintain all registers, logs, and systems to track repairs, notifications, and work activities.
* Develop and maintain close and collaborative working relationships across the Maintenance, Production, Planning, and Engineering teams.
About You
* Minimum Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
* A safety mindset with a strong commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
* Ability to work and communicate well in a team environment.
* Sound understanding of reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance systems and techniques.
* Sound knowledge of high-speed packaging equipment, bearings, seals, shaft repair, conveying systems, etc.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
