We currently have an opportunity for a Receptionist/Cleaner to join our fantastic team on site at Nottingham University.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide reception cover when Site Supervisors are on annual leave or sick. On days when reception cover is not required, the role will involve providing additional cleaning support within the Halls of Residence.
This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week,
Monday to Friday, 8 am to 18 pm
Pay rate £12,70 per hour
Reception Duties:
* Provide an excellent and comprehensive front-of-house reception service to students, visitors, and office staff.
* Maintain records of all visitors, contractors, and issue keys when required.
* Assist managers with coordinating on-site activities, day-to-day administration, and completing regular reports.
* Liaise with the university client, sub-contractors, and residents to support queries.
* Assist in the procurement of goods and services via the purchase system, including producing purchase orders and processing invoices.
* Maintain all technical, statutory, and personnel records held on site.
* Monitor out-of-hours access to the residence, ensuring compliance with fire, health & safety procedures.
* Operate a computer-based property management database to monitor planned and reactive maintenance works.
Cleaning Duties:
* Clean designated areas within the Halls of Residence, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and white goods.
* Vacuum, spot clean, and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors, and clean stairs.
* Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, and lampshades as needed.
* Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas.
* Make beds, change bedding, collect laundered linen, and bag laundry during conference season.
* Clean internal and external windows where applicable.
* Move free-standing furniture as required.
* Wash up glasses, cutlery, and cooking utensils when necessary.
* Be flexible in covering alternative halls as required.
* Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices.
* Provide support during peak periods, especially during student arrival and departure weekends.
About You:
We are looking for someone with experience in a similar role and environment who has:
* Strong communication and administrative skills.
* Confidence in basic admin.
* A helpful and welcoming attitude towards students, staff, and visitors.
* A flexible approach to work, willing to cover additional hours when needed.
* A commitment to high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
* A valid driving license and access to their own vehicle.
