The Production Planner Apprenticeship Programme: The programme follows a structured Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering – Technical Support Technician. This qualification is based on national occupational standards requiring you to demonstrate both engineering skills and knowledge, with the ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems. In the first year you will spend time at a private local engineering training provider where the relevant qualification units will be delivered and assessed. As part of your apprenticeship, you will complete: Practical training A technical certificate taking a Technical Support will assist you with the ‘theory' part of your apprenticeship. A Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Technical Support Technician will allow you to further your study selecting units relating to your role. This will enable you to develop an excellent foundation in Engineering. You will also be provided with job specific training relating to the Shop floor planner role. What will I be doing? Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is offering the challenging, but exciting opportunity to join our Planning Department on a Level 3 Apprenticeship Programme. The Planning Department plays a central role in the management of our business activities & is responsible for managing the demand coming into the business and aligning the internal & external production schedules to ensure achievement of the demand, along with managing Product Configuration & Bills of Materials. This is done in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software systems. This role will be responsible for generating and managing detailed schedules in respect with the Master Production Schedule (MPS). You will participate in the MPS meetings and work with our various departments to reflect this detail in our ERP & MRP systems. You will also work with other departments, such as Engineering, Quality & Finance to ensure product conformance with the standards. You will gain a good understanding of planning fundamentals with the opportunity to work towards the APICS certification post apprenticeship. You will become familiar with ERP usage and have a working Knowledge of Production process flows. As a valued member of the team, your knowledge and skills will be utilised to assist our continuous improvement programme, thereby ensuring that our product continues to be right first time. Job requirements What do I need? You will have a keen interest in science and engineering and be able to demonstrate a methodical and thorough approach to work. You will possess excellent problem solving abilities. The role of apprentice will require you to be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You will be a motivated, hardworking individual with excellent planning and organisational skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own will be key to your success. Successful candidates will need to have achieved, or expect to achieve at least 5 GCSE's - including Math and English - Grade A-C or 5-9, Science and a technology.
