An opportunity has arisen at Sherwood Forest Hospitals for a specialist dietitian to work across both our critical care team and our adult inpatient service. This is a fixed term role until September 2025.
The successful candidate needs to be enthusiastic and motivated and work within the multi-disciplinary team and excellent communication skills. The candidate needs the ability to teach colleagues, staff, and patients with their carers/family members.
It is expected for the candidate to manage their own caseload, demonstrate a high level of clinical reasoning and will be responsible for the provision of a specialist evidence-based dietetic service to inpatients in conjunction with the acute dietetic team.
They will be expected to participate in QI projects, suggesting practice changes and updating resources.

Qualifications & Training
Essential
* Qualified Dietitian (4 year degree, post-graduate diploma or equivalent).
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Registered with the Health Professions Council.
Desirable
* Relevant validated course.
* Member of BDA including specialist group.
Skills
Essential
* Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills including explaining, negotiating, motivating and training.
* Able to work as an integral member of dietetic and multiprofessional teams, building relationships with patients/carers, and other staff.
* Able to handle sensitive and confidential information and respond to people who are distressed or anxious.
* Able to overcome difficulties in communication, including language barriers, and adapt approach to varying situations.
* Able to overcome barriers to understanding.
* Able to interpret and evaluate complex information from a variety of sources using professional judgement to solve problems and make decisions where there are a range of options.
